Incentives for Solar Energy
Solar electricity can help generate clean energy for your home, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and making you an active participant in powering a greener province. Adding solar to your property is a major investment decision and should be thoroughly researched so you can feel confident in your investment. BC waives PST taxes, 7%, for clean energy equipment which includes solar panels. BC is the only province that does this.
• PST Exemption: Read more at Energy, Energy Conservation and the ICE Fund Tax
• BC Hydro Rebates : Up to $5,000 on eligible grid-connected solar panels and up to an additional $5,000 for battery storage systems
• Net Metering: When your solar panels generates more electricity than you use, the extra energy is sent back to the grid, and you receive credits on your electricity bill. This helps reduce energy costs and supports a cleaner energy future.
